Richard Kirby Sergeant O'Rourke

Before becoming a private investigator Jack Trowel worked in the police force and partnered for a short time with hard nosed Irish cop O'Rourke, played by all round Englishman and mafia chef Richard Kirby.

Richard graduated from the City Lit fairly late in life, though not before many boards had been trod in pantomime and most of the gamut of musical theatre. Stage roles since then include the Lord Mayor of London in 'Catchy', Waegmund in 'Beowulf', The Mock Turtle and March Hare in 'Curiouser and Curiouser'. Roles for the camera include a sightless inspector in 'The Inspectors' and a hostage in 'A Terrorist Video'. Likes fighting with swords and likes a good laugh, though maybe not at the same time. The lure of being in a 1940s version of 'Police Squad' was too much to resist, now is anyone going to do 'Columbo'?...that's terrific.
